The Linux Audio Conference is the international conference about Open Source Software for music, sound and other media with Linux as the main platform. 2012 marks the 10th anniversary of the event and it is the first time the LAC takes place in the United States.
Target audience
The Linux Audio Conference brings together musicians, composers, sound artists, software developers, researchers and engineers working with Linux as an open, stable, professional platform for audio and media research and music production.

April 12-15 2012, CCRMA (Center for Computer Research in Music and Acoustics), Stanford University, California. See the Contact and Travel pages for details. The conference main tracks will be streamed live and archived. Remote participation will be possible via IRC.
The Center for Computer Research in Music and Acoustics (CCRMA) at Stanford University is a multi-disciplinary facility where composers and researchers work together using computer-based technology both as an artistic medium and as a research tool. CCRMA has been using and developing Linux as an audio platform since 1997.

LAC is organized by a community of GNU/Linux free/libre software users and developers that communicate through the Linux-Audio-Users and Linux-Audio-Developers mailing lists. LAC2012 is under the auspices of CCRMA, organized by Fernando Lopez-Lezcano and Bruno Ruviaro, Frank Neumann, Robin Gareus and Julius O. Smith III.
