    » Paper Presentation - day:2 - 12:40

I'm a passionate musician and Linux enthusiast. I have been playing guitar and drums for many years, and I have been an avid Linux user ever since my teenage years.
I work as a technician by day, and create music at night. I have worked on projects for both myself and other bands as a sound producer and engineer since 2003. My skills are self-taught, and I long to be able to do all my work on the Linux platform. To do that, it needs to mature on all fronts. Plugins, sequencers, backends and hardware compatibility. It's all being worked on by some truly magnificent people. I admire them greatly, and each year we're closing in on (or actually surpassing) the more established proprietary solutions.

My own contribution to this is working on the technical design and graphical design of DrumGizmo. We're a great team working on it, and it's shaping up to compete with the best in the business. There's been a huge craving for an open source solution that emulates the recording of a real drummer behind a real mic'ed drumkit. This is DrumGizmo.
