Robin's pro­fes­sional ex­pe­ri­ence ranges from con­sult­ing to hard­ware/soft­ware develop­ment, fo­cus­ing on Re­search & De­vel­op­ment for art-in­stal­la­tions, life and open-web stan­dards. Amongst oth­ers places, he worked at the Nether­lands Institute for New Media Art, Me­dia­matic, V2_ Lab as well as Berkeley Lab and taught at the Kunst Uni­vesi­taet Linz and the San Fran­cisco Art Institute. Robin is tech­ni­cal-direc­tor for var­i­ous sound and film-pro­duc­tions and works internationally with celebrated artists.

Join­ing the free-soft­ware-move­ment in the mid 90's, he became the au­thor of renowned GNU/Linux ap­pli­ca­tions and is known in the FLOSS com­munity for run­ning the ​linuxaudio.​org​ por­tal since 2005 and for co-orga­nizing the­ Linux Audio Con­fer­ence since 2009. Robin is in­volved in 64studio.​com​ and ardour.​org​ amongst many other FLOSS projects.

Since March 2009 Robin teaches and en­gi­neers Me­dia-Art at the CITU Lab of the University Paris 8.
