José Rafael Subía Valdez was born in Quito, Ecuador in 1985. He graduated from Quilmes National University in Argentina as an Electro acoustic Composer. His music has been played in different festivals in Ecuador and Argentina. He has won different grants in Quilmes National University allowing him to investigate as well as to teach. His investigations concentrate around computer music and the development of computer software for mix media composition. He has participated in different computer music conventions with papers of his work. He currently works in the National University Institute for the Arts (IUNA) as a teacher and in Quilmes National University were he has a grant for research and programing of music patches using Pure Data. He studied composition with Mstr. Julio Martín Viera and in 2010 with Mstr. Gerardo Gandini thanks to the Melos/Gandini fellowship.
