Malte Steiner

born 1970 in Germany. Programming computers, creating visual arts and electronic music since the early 80s. First exhibition 1983 with surrealistic paintings in Hamburg. 1986 he took a course on electroacoustic music in Lüneburg by H.W. Erdmann and gave first live performances. Founded with others the Hörbar in Hamburg 1991, a club for experimental music which is still active. Started 1996 the project Elektronengehirn to explore sound synthesis with software instead of former works with analog and digital studio electronics, several releases on CD and online.
Working as freelance sound designer, media artist and software developer in Berlin, giving lectures and workshops, mainly about contentcreation with free open source software like Pure Data, Csound and Blender. Organizes the PD Users meeting twice a month at c-base Berlin. Involved in open source projects like 'Minicomputer' synthesizersoftware for Linux.
