Getting around

The best way to get around in Graz is by bike, followed by public transport (tram, bus) and walking. On foot, it will take no longer than 30 minutes from the city center to the main venue (Inffeldgasse).

Public transport is based on tramways and busses. The tramway station that is closest to the conference venue is St.Peter - Schulzentrum on the Line 6 (heading for "St.Peter"). Be warned though that at about 8:00pm public transport is reduced and the last busses/trams will be at midnight (so you might end up walking home after the concerts).

Traveling to Graz

From the airports...

The airport in Graz is only about 10 km south of the city. The center is conviniently reached by taxi or public busses. From the Graz Airport web pages www.flughafen-graz.at you can find more information about flight schedules and timetables for public transportation.

By Train

From the central railway station of Graz take tramline 6 towards St.Peter, exit at stop Schulzentrum St. Peter and walk down the Inffeldgasse 200m until you reach the "Studienzentrum". The institute is in the 3rd floor.

By Car

From North or South: follow A9 Phyrn-Autobahn until the interchange Graz-West, then on A2 Südautobahn towards Vienna. From East or West: Follow A2 Südautobahn until the interchange Graz-Ost, follow the feeder road until exit Graz-Liebenau, turn right and follow Müngrabenstraße about 2 km, turn right into Sandgasse and follow it till the end, turn right into Petersgasse and after app. 200m turn right into Inffeldgasse. See the map.

Parking

The premises of the university are limited by gates with an intercom. There is a short-term parking zone surrounding the campus, so we suggest to use public transport or walk the last mile. (Note that you can stay in the short-term parking zone on Thursday (which is a bank holiday in Austria) and during the weekend (Saturday afternoon/Sunday).)

After the Conference

What to do besides LAC?

Excursion

The last day of the LAC2013 (Sunday, May 12) is dedicated to a social event rather than yet another round of technical papers: We make a trip to the beautiful Styrian countryside (they make nice wine there...)!

LiWoLi

We are sorry that as a result of a 43% funding cut by the Austrian federal government, our sister festival LiWoLi - Art Meets Radical Openness has had to be canceled.
