Day 2 - Friday, May/10
14:30 Linux/Ardour in a Recording Studio - Workshop
(180 min) Ludwig Mohr, Dominik Schmidt-Philipp » Location: SPSC Studio
Currently the Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) in the SPSC Recording Studio is a MS Windows based machine. We want to demonstrate that it is entirely possible to achieve the same workflow and level of integration of the mixing console and the DAW using free software (Linux, Ardour).
We plan to provide pre-recorded audio tracks. The workshop itself will consist of an overview over the Linux DAW and its integration into the recording studio and the mixing of the tracks, in this participants will be able to get a hands-on experience with our setup.
If possible, we intend to provide the opportunity of recording overdubs to the existing tracks in order to complete the demonstration of free software in a professional recording studio environment.

The schedule is a major guideline. There is no guarantee events will take place at the announced timeslot.
